  • We remodeled our floors in the house this summer and I probably went to Menards every other day to buy materials. I have come to the realization that Menards is an awesome place to shop and here are the reasons why...

5 Reasons why I love shopping at Menards

    5. "No waiting for Savings!" policy I've never had to wait for more than 1 person in line. If they see that lines are getting long, they'll open new lanes quickly. Overall, their prices are pretty competitive compared to Lowes and Home Depot too.

    4. The Grocery- There's not much beyond what you find in a 7 Eleven, but it's pretty extensive for a hardware store and quantities are plentiful. They even have pizza, milk and other frozen goods. Some of the regular prices are better than the local Jewel, Dominicks or Walmart. I know that when I shop there that I'm not going to get sucked in because of one great deal and get ripped off on other products. Everything is priced well. Compare for yourself!

    3. Great customer service. It's all about the service.

    2. They have a fast and easy rebate system.

    1. I love singing to the Menards jingle on the intercom 50 times while I'm there. Bryan and I would be a great duet.

"you save big money, you save big money, when you shop Menards...!!!"

  • It's official. Our ship sank and our trip got canceled.

I think I'm coming down with something. I have the most irritating sore throat right now. Why again does my body have to be physically challenged for another week? I've had the strangest things happen to me in the last 6 weeks.

Yes I'm trying to bring Xanga back to life!

  • Normally Bryan leaves about 10 minutes for himself to walk fast to the train. If Bryan is running late, he usually wakes me in the morning two minutes before with 90 seconds to get to the the train. In those two minutes I usually put on my glasses, a coat, slippers and ride with him half asleep if I'm tired. He drives to the train station, then I switch into the driver's seat for the four block ride home.

Today I was definitely mid-dream when he woke me up and did the usual routine...when I came home and walked up one step to the deck, I slipped on some ice and I fell sooooo hard. I was still half asleep, so I don't even remember how I fell. I just got up and tried to get into the house as quickly as I could to see the damage....my toenail bent horizontally half way and a quarter of the nail was off and it was bleeding..... I definitely cried like a four year old then fell asleep, but don't tell anyone.

  • For February, we planned a trip to Buenos Aires then a flight to Ushaiya. From there we would have taken a vessel to Antartica for a 10 day voyage....except now we can't go because our lady M/S explorer sank on Friday

It was a ship small enough to get through narrow waterways and tough enough to get pass the ice....but she didn't make it this time and 154 people were on board. They traveled on lifeboats to a nearby island and everyone is safe. Praise God.

I got these pictures from YaHoo.

Everything is booked for us but there's no ship. The company website took off all the information for the Anartica trips....Hopefully the travel company will update us soon.
